COPY CERTIFICATIONS
Government forms are unable to be notarized because a Notary is only permitted to notarize a document that he or she actually witnesses being signed.
However, fortunately the State of Pennsylvania allows PA notaries to notarize COPY CERTIFICATIONS. This form attests to the fact that the copy is a true and correct, unaltered and unchanged document.
The process is easy:
- You present the original and a copy of your document to the Notary. He or she then signs and notarizes a Copy Certification. The Copy Certification is affixed to the document. The two forms must be presented together.
This form is generally accepted by most organizations, including Embassies, throughout the world. We do, however, suggest that you contact the recipient of the document to make sure they will accept it.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR STATE GUIDELINES TO SEE IF YOUR STATE ALLOWS COPY CERTIFICATIONS.
